Dr. Bernadine O’ Donovan was appointed in 2018 as an APA research fellow with the Discipline of Histopathology, School of Medicine, Trinity College Dublin. She works within the CERVIVA research group and is based at the National Cancer Registry Ireland (Cork office). Prior to this appointment she attained an undergraduate degree in Psychology and MSc Neuropharmacology at the National University of Ireland, Galway and MSc Cognitive Neuropsychology at Edinburgh University, UK. She was awarded a PhD from Medway School of Pharmacy, University of Kent, UK. The dissertation was based on patients’ experiences of identifying and managing side effects from medicines. She is now working on the APA cervical screening research project which is a partnership between the CERVIVA research group and CervicalCheck. The ultimate goals of this research are to maximise cervical screening coverage in Ireland and deliver health gains for individual women and the population.
